Samsung Galaxy A6: available in the US September 14th from Sprint, retail price $360September 7, 2018
Samsung has confirmed that its latest batch of mid-range phones and tablets will arrive in the US from September 14th.
The newest entrant in Samsung’s mid-range-but-still-very-nice-looking Galaxy A series, the A6, will be available with Sprint. (Is the A6 Plus coming too? It’s not clear. The larger device is available in Europe, but Samsung hasn’t mentioned a US launch date.) The Wi-Fi-only version of the 10.5-inch Galaxy Tab A will be in stores including Amazon and Walmart on the same date, while the LTE version will be coming to Sprint and Verizon some time “later this year.” And, after launching with carriers earlier in June, the Galaxy J3 and J7 (mid-range phones but they look like it) will be available unlocked on Samsung.com from the 14th.
There are no real surprises here as the devices have been available in various markets earlier this year, but here’s a run down of specs if you should need them:
- Galaxy A6: 5.6-inch OLED display; 16-megapixel front- and rear-facing cameras (with a f/1.7 aperture on the back); 3,000mAh battery; 1.6GHz quad-core processor with 3GB of RAM; face recognition and fingerprint sensor; Android 8 Oreo. Retail price of $359.99.
- Galaxy J3 and J7: J3 has 5-inch HD display, 5-megapixel front-facing camera and 8-megapixel rear-facing camera; J7 has 5.5-inch display, 13-megapixel front- and rear-facing camera. Further specs still unknown. $169.99 for the J3; $249.99 for the J7.
- Galaxy Tab A 10.5-inch: A 16:10 WUXGA display, Dolby Atmos-enhanced quad-speakers; 1.8GHz octa-core processor and 3GB of RAM; internal storage of 32GB, expandable up to 400GB; 7,300mAh battery; Android 8.1. Retail price of $329.99.
