Google Pixel 2 XL is almost $300 off for Verizon customersOctober 12, 2018
The Google Pixel 3 and 3 XL are now available for preorder starting at $799, but they won’t appeal to everyone — even if they are on the cheaper end of the flagship phone pricing spectrum. Thankfully, buying the Google Pixel 2 XL is becoming a whole lot more affordable.
The last-gen phone still costs $849.99 outright at Best Buy, which is far too expensive and far more costly than the Google Store’s own $699 price point. But if you commit to the 24-month payment plan through Verizon, Best Buy takes the price down from $35.41 per month to $22.91. Including the price of activating the phone, you’ll have only paid $599 for the Pixel 2 XL. Doubling the storage to the 128GB model on Verizon’s 24-month plan is still far more affordable than buying it outright, costing only about $699.
The Pixel 3 will come out next week, and the incremental improvements made to its design, internal hardware, and camera will likely put it among the best choices for people who want the latest, most capable Android phone. However, the Pixel 2 XL is still a solid choice for Android purists who want to take some quality photos on their phone. Only one year into its support life cycle, it’s guaranteed to receive major Android updates for the next two years, and owners will be among the first to receive new features.
