Amazon Fire TV Recast lets you send live TV recordings to your deviceSeptember 20, 2018
Amazon announced a new FireTV Recast today. It’s a box that can beam shows from an antenna to your home through FireTV. All you need to do is place the box in your home and then start streaming on your Echo Show, Spot, FireTV, or on mobile.
A feature in the app will help you determine where to put your antenna for the strongest possible signal. FireTV Recast can be integrated into the channel guide, so you could watch with Prime Video and even PlayStation Vue. You can also just watch local news and shows from channels like ABC, The CW, and NBC.
It can send live TV to your Echo Show as recordings. You can record up to four shows at a time and stream on multiple devices. There’s also voice control built in so you can delete, schedule, or cancel recordings.
FireTV Recast has two tuners, and a 500GB DVR, with an option for a four tuner TB also coming. It costs $229.99. Preorders are available today and the box will ship before the holidays.
